Build Confidence On Road
This course is taught to National Standards Level 2 (equivalent of Bikeability Level 1 and 2),
starting off in a safe, traffic-free environment and then taking riders out onto quiet roads to build confidence and understanding of the rules of the road.
Overview

Your child is taught by a qualified instructor 1:1 or 1:2

Lessons are taught on quiet roads with simple junctions

The course covers all elements of Junior Pedallers Bronze and Junior Pedallers Silver

The course is 3.5 - 4 hours, which includes 2 short breaks
Requirements

A bike in working order, comfortable clothing, sensible footwear and a helmet

We can supply a lightweight bike and a helmet for your child to use (by prior arrangement)

This course is aimed at children who are able to ride a bike and who are aged 9 or over (ideally Year 5 or above) who have not previously attended any formal cycling training
Outcomes
By attending a Junior Pedallers Ruby course, your child should be able to:

Prepare themselves for cycling on the road

Start and finish an on road journey, including passing parked or slower moving vehicles and side roads

Recognise typical hazards

Signal intentions to other road users

Know where to ride on the road and how to share the road

Be able to navigate junctions, turning left and right into major and minor roads

Comply with signals, signs and road markings
Cost

£75 per child (course with 2 riders) or £120 per child (1:1 coaching)

Courses can be arranged for small groups up to 6 riders - price will vary depending on number of children and location
